Friends in the Desert
Friends in the Desert is a community outreach ministry of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, serving hot meals and providing essential support to people experiencing hardship in Henderson and the surrounding area.
Our Mission
Friends in the Desert began when hungry individuals came to St. Timothy's and knocked on the door. The door was opened, and they were fed. That spirit of hospitality continues today.
We serve hot, nutritious meals and sack lunches to homeless and disadvantaged members of our community six days a week — Monday through Saturday — out of the kitchen and parish hall at St. Timothy's. We serve even on holidays.
In addition to meals, we provide access to a visiting nurse, referrals, bus transportation, and connections to resources like safe housing, healthcare, and dental services.
